Sixteen runners have been confirmed for Saturday’s 2016 Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on Saturday; offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.
Alaskan Rose is yet to herald much interest in 2016 Adrian Knox Stakes betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au but remains outright favourite for success ahead of Sacred Eye ($4.80) and Daisy’s Joy ($7.50).
Will Alaskan Rose justify favouritism and win the 2016 Adrian Knox Stakes or will one of her talented rivals find the line in the clear?
Sacred Eye ($4.80)
Sacred Eye has been charged with carrying a race-high 59kgs but has been confirmed to be partnered by leading hoop Hugh Bowman and represents terrific value at current $4.80 Adrian Knox Stakes odds. Posting a number of impressive results for David Hayes & Tom Dabernig through spring, Sacred Eye placed second in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) before taking out the Group 3 Caulfield Classic (2000m); returning to the paddock following a luckless run for seventh in the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m). Having placed fifth in the each of the Group 3 The Vanity (1400m) and Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) this time, the daughter of High Chaparral is sure to relish a return to her pet distance on Saturday.
Godolphin filly Seltzer undoubtedly faces her biggest task to date in the 2016 Adrian Knox Stakes but carries competitive form into the race and will carry only 54kgs. Claiming one wins and two minors through only seven starts, the Authorized filly was forced to settle off the pace in the Star 104.5 Concert BM64 (1600m) last time out but mustered an impressive late turn of foot to finish a close second. Notable hoop Tim Clark will take the ride on Seltzer, who is undoubtedly over the odds at her current quote.
Daisy’s Joy ($7.50)
Daisy’s Joy has posted a number of good performances this time and is a leading chance to finish in the first three in the 2016 Adrian Knox Stakes. Resuming for a maiden race win in the Dennis Tomsett Maiden (1400m) on January 28th, the Street Cry filly ran second in each of the Ranvet BM67 (1550m) and Peter Malone BM72 (1800m) but was unlucky to be hampered for a run throughout the TAB.com.au BM72 (2100m) last start and finished seventh.
